The WINTER STORM WARNING continues until noon. The bulk of the snowfall is ending. In Mt. Carmel reports are indicated 11 inches of snow and sleet and 0.10 inches of ice accumulation from the storm. Travel is strongly discouraged. Roads are slick and hazardous with numerous slide-offs reported. Power outages continue in isolated locations. As of this update Wayne White Electric reports 276 customers without power (including 57 in Carmi, 72 in Indian Creek, and 114 in Heralds Prairie). Ameren reports 15 customers out in the Norris City area.
